Dear members and friends:

Wasn’t that a party?! I hope you were able to attend the Grant Awards Celebration on March 29 to participate in awarding a record $366,000 in grants for our chapter, bringing Impact100 Martin’s total to exactly $1.4 million in six years. Because of YOU, we are having a big impact in Martin County. Please take a minute to read the Grants Committee update. I think you’ll be pleased and impressed with how quickly our most recent grants have had a ripple effect, leading to other sources of funding and project expansion. Wow, that was fast!

Over the past 20 years, Impact100 chapters have awarded $123 million in grants and, in some ways, we’re just getting started. New chapters have started largely by word of mouth (with some big help from People magazine, as you’ll read in Wendy Steele’s book, “Invitation to Impact”). But Wendy is getting ready to take things to a whole new level through her book and expansion of Impact100 Global. Her book isn’t just the “why” we do what we do through Impact100, but is a blueprint for community transformation, with a window into her soul and her belief in the power of women to get things done. You will love this book!

Thank you for being a part of this movement.  You will hear from us throughout the summer with updates on our strategic plan for 2023/2024, our new Board Members, and news from our nonprofit partners.  Have a happy and healthy summer!

With gratitude,

Lighting the Path to Community Transformation

Impact100 founder Wendy Steeles’s debut book, Invitation to Impact: Lighting the Path to Community Transformation shares her personal journey of building one of today’s most powerful grassroots organizations and invites women to become part of the solution by impacting their very own communities. Part business book, part memoir, Invitation to Impact provides insights for catalyzing meaningful change by giving women a seat at the table and a chance to join the movement—or spark one within themselves.

Next, the Merit Award of $33,000 going to the Martin County Library Foundation will be utilized to support the initial project idea of a digital librarian supporting the securement of historical artifacts for years to come.

Over the coming year, each of these nonprofit leaders will provide quarterly updates on the progress and impact of their projects. We will share more photos throughout the year and are working on opportunities for members to “see your impact” through onsite visits in the coming year. Look for announcements in future newsletters.

Thanks to our Impact100 Martin members, the ripple effect continues…
