Well, here we are, ready to cast our votes for the 2023 Grant Award Recipients. It’s fitting that we’re doing it in March, during Women’s History Month. We’re about to make some history of our own, setting new records in membership and total giving – all of which will be announced at the Grant Awards Celebration!
We’re also setting a new record with FIVE finalists who will make the case for why they should be awarded a $100,000 transformational grant. THREE grants will be awarded, based on your votes. The heart of the Impact100 model is one woman, one vote.
This newsletter contains everything you need to prepare for the celebration and to cast your vote, whether you attend or not. You have everything at your fingertips to:
Register for the Grant Awards Celebration
Become an educated voter by reading the applications and watching the videos for each finalist
Prepare to vote either in-person or by absentee ballot, by reading the voting guide
We also made history this year with more than 100 volunteers who donated their time and expertise to lead the chapter forward and create a great member experience. We celebrate them and say a big THANK YOU on behalf of all members, and the community we serve.
We wrote to you on February 28 to alert you that the Member Portal would show your membership status as “Inactive” due to the fact that we restart the membership year on March 1 each year. We asked for your patience as we looked for a solution.
We resolved the issue by calibrating your membership year to your anniversary date. For example, if you joined January 15, 2023 the member portal will show you as an active member until January 16, 2024. Even then, you have until February 29, 2024 to rejoin.
As you register for the Grant Awards Celebration, please note your membership status is now "active with a one-year term." Come join us in the celebration!
The Grants Committee has selected our fivefinalists and now the responsibility of awarding our Impact Grants is in the hands of the entire Impact100 Martin membership. Please read the information below about the finalists, attend the Grant Awards Celebration, listen to the finalists present their projects, and cast your vote. This is what our year-round efforts are all about!

PNC Private Bank has been a proud sponsor of Impact 100 Martin since 2019. Within the Bank and across the communities we serve, we recognize the importance of supporting organizations like Impact 100, which are inspiring women to recognize that philanthropy is power. As wealth, businesses and investment portfolios are shifting into women’s hands at a record pace, women are taking the lead and making an impact with their own unique approaches to giving. Philanthropy is transitioning from a prescriptive model, where the goal is to make the donor feel good about a donation, to a catalytic model, which seeks to deploy capital to solve problems.
Tracy Sorzano, senior vice president and Wealth Strategy regional manager for PNC Private Bank, suggests that the most important step in determining a philanthropic focus might be to ask yourself, “Why?”
Sorzano is a founding member of Impact 100 Martin and has served on both the advisory board and events committee. She was drawn to the spirit of Impact – a shared desire to improve the community through collective giving, and knowing that pooled resources can make a greater impact than individual contributions.
As wealth continues to shift to women over the next decade, women’s influence over philanthropy will continue to grow. Actions speak louder than words, and the steps women take today to deploy capital to solve the problems they care about most can have global economic implications in the future.
PNC’s dedicated teams have the knowledge, experience, and desire to ease financial complexities and deliver peace of mind to help our clients achieve their financial purpose.
So, let’s get started!
